We had a beautiful view from our room. the location was good for one of our guests who had mobility issues and there are two ways to the hotel from the parking lot, one is along cobblestone streets and more steps and the other a little longer but flatter and easier to walk / carry bags. They offer assistance with carrying baggage which was helpful too.

Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.
Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.
Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.
At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.
Hvar was amazing. The island and views were beautiful.

Beautiful old town.
Beautiful old town. Spectacular view of many surrounded island from the Napoleon trail. The city provided plenty of seating benches throughout the city and rural. I visited other towns in this island that have the same relaxing standards. Thanks to the Croatia government.
However, October was not a good month to get access to island tours and most restaurants. I was told that April to September is when the businesses open fully.

I only went to the old town, arriving by ferry in the evening. Absolutely beautiful but even in October it was way, way over touristed. I decided to stop contributing to the problem myself by changing my plans and leaving early the next morning.

Hvar is incredibly charming and I wish we could have stayed a few more days. It's a high energy environment with young and older tourists alike, gorgeous historic spots like the Fort and really great shopping (dresses, jewelry, pretty handbags on trend all reasonably priced from a Boston perspective).

Hvar is for you if you love being near the water and sitting in the sunshine. Things i wish I’d taken, more cash, many places operate on a cash only basis and they cash machines charge up to €10 to withdraw from. The cheapest bakeries which are also delicious are near the bus station. Bring insect repellent and insect bite treatments and also bring your own sunscreen as it is incredibly expensive to purchase it on the island.
Take shoes you can comfortably walk up and down stairs in and on cobbled streets.
Best places to east for me were Kantun, Coffee snob, sweet treats bakery and Fig Hvar.

Hvar has the most beautiful water I have ever seen, if you take a trip with a taxi boat to one of the smaller island, you'll have a wonderful time. There's a nude beach where fortunately not a lot of people go to cause they're scared of nakedness.
Its super party touristy in the main town. Rich british boys and old white men.. everything is super expensive. There's no buses driving around the island so you'll have to rent a scooter or walk a long distance.
Not only was the apartment substantially larger, and better outfitted than most comparably priced (and pricier) hotel/Airbnb options, Christina, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. She provided great local recommendations and even coordinated a local COVID facility to open up early so my girlfriend and I could be tested prior to a ferry. Christina's place is about a 5-minute walk to the main town, and a block away from Fig, one of our favorite restaurants in Hvar. Highly recommend.
Very clean apartment, excellent view from the two balconies, very kind and professional host, modern bathroom, comfy bed and good location.
It takes about 5 minutes to walk down to the centre, and 10 minutes walking back. Lots of stairs. We got a lot of recommandations for what to see and experience in Hvar, and especially what would be best each day dependent on the weather and wind direction.
The photos are true to the apartment, and it was as we pictured it. We can wholeheartedly recommend this apartment and host.
Perfectly located 5 or 10 mins walk from the main port, centrally located in HVAR town, very close to all the bars, restaurant and harbor but no noise at night which was great.
We actually forgot out passports when we left and had a flight the next day from Dubrovnik and the hotel staff pulled off a miracle trip with a taxi driver to get our passports delivered overnight so we didn't miss our flights, thats the kind of extra service you never forgot. Thanks so much to the staff !
Very nice guy runs the place. He let us leave our bags there and check in early. Its a relaxed comfortable room and bathroom. The best thing is you step out of the door and you are in the middle of beautiful Hvar. It took about 5 minutes to go to the ferry port. If you are on foot this place is great. Other places were up a steep hill. Photo is the street outside the hotel. There is a great coffee shop at the end of it. It has fresh fruit and a good bakery selection.
A beautiful studio with kitchen and with view as the ads in the middle of the old town. The remaining room was spotless. The owner was very attentive. During the first arrival we used the path with a lot of steps. However, I easily found the alternative with much less steps. The hotel rate was fair near $200 EUR for 3 nights in the end of October and beautiful Hvar old town.
I still loved the owner who provided the brand-new and modern condition room at their best.
Beach Bay Hvar is a fantastic find in Hvar. A short walk to Hvar centre this hotel is a gem with beautiful sweeping views out towards the islands. Well equipped hotel, beautifully appointed rooms with balconies and a large bathroom. Comfortable with the right amount of luxury! Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Staff were so friendly and more than accomdating. Beautiful terrace with day beds over looking beach bay and towards the monastery. A great stay!
Beautiful room in the heart of Hvar, close to the marina (and ferries arrival) and to the heart of the village. The room is part of the Heritage hotel and shares its facilities, but is located two streets away. This is not a problem since the staff is extremely helpful with the luggage and any other issue: honestly, very grateful for that.
The breakfast is served in a beautiful patio in the shadow: nice, good and cozy. I strongly recommend this place!
From our welcome with a nice bottle of wine, a delicious platter of sweet figs and a bowl of various other fruits, to the high end finishes and every foreseeable need met, The Renaissance is hands down the best short term rental we've ever enjoyed. It was simply amazing. The view onto the ocean and town of Hvar was like a moving portrait. The unit is cozy, airy, and very welcoming. The location was tops.
We loved our stay at Hotel Podstine - everything you need all in one place. All of the staff were lovely and very helpful, from the front desk to the restaurant and bar staff. The beachfront location was perfect. Would highly recommend and even though we’ve now moved on to Split we miss Podstine and Hvar already!
Incredible resort stay with a wonderful pool and great beach access! Amfora a upgraded us to a two bedroom suite with balconies and it could not have been nicer of them! We also love how they arrange to take your bags to and from the ferry port as the short walk to the hotel from the ferry port is steep.
Beautiful location 15 mins drive away from the main Hvar town area which is perfect for relaxation, it is located on a beautiful beach which isn't too crowded and they also have a lovely pool area. Also really appreciated the free pick up and drop off service they have from Hvar town to their hotel.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are always smiling and very attentive. We were upgraded to a truly beautiful suite with our own private balcony overlooking the bots in the bay. If you want a treat or to surprise someone - this is a special place on beautiful Hvar
Great little hotel, I've stayed before and will again hopefully ,great host in Bruno, always ready to help with anything and provide assistance ,the top man in Hvar, not far from the beach.also the cleaning lady does a great job also, which may go un noticed.
Fantastic hotel in a wonderful place at hvar. Very friendly staff, specially at breakfast (Iva, Eva, Sandra, marko, Alexander) and at pool (Darko). Delicious breakfast and comfortable room. Old city only 10 minutes. We loved everything!
Beautiful hotel with bar, restaurant, pool, private beach about 15 minutes from Hvar Town, the walk was very nice, but if you want to be right downtown it likely is not the place for you. The hotel as a whole was amazing
Great location close to the ferry arrivals at hvar and excellent staff with a nice breakfast buffet. Smaller room without a view but that is to be expected in hotels along the small streets of hvar.
